ABOUT THE CLUB

- Elsies River, Western Cape, South Africa
- Elsies River United Rugby Football Club is affiliated to the Western Province [WP] Rugby Union and was established in 1992, through the amalgamation of the Excelsior and Melton’s Rugby Clubs. The purpose of the amalgamation was to create one [1] truly community club within the Elsies River area and promote Elsies Park as the “Home of Elsies River Rugby”. The Club has gradually progressed through the Western Province Club Rugby leagues and throughout its existence, the Club has produced exceptional rugby sometimes even against all expectations. Although the Club has since its establishment operated on a purely amateur basis, the Club has a keen involvement and commitment in community development and in particularly youth development, which is evident from its partnership with three [3] community collectives which benefitted from the Clubs community projects in 2007/8.
